Poland: Temporary Reduction In VAT Rate

The Polish Ministry of Finance announced this morning that the temporary reduction of the PL VAT rate to certain basic foodstuff to 0% will not be extended beyond the 31st of March 2024. This means that as of the 1st of April 2024 the products like fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy and grain products will again be subject to 5% VAT rate in Poland. The 0% VAT rate has been in force since the 1st of February 2022 and it was introduced by the Polish government as a temporary measure to combat the skyrocketing inflation at that time.
